Illinois labor law prohibits the University and its managers and supervisors from interfering with, restraining, coercing, deterring or discouraging employees or applicants from becoming union members, authorizing union membership, authorizing dues or fee deductions to a union, or otherwise interfering with the relationship between employees and their union. Also, the University will not intentionally permit an outside party to use University email or communication systems to engage in this conduct. It is University policy to block email and other communication systems for these purposes.
