SHRS Training Programs

System Human Resource Services offers a variety of training programs for a comprehensive learning experience. Employees can complete all courses offered in a track of study, or choose sessions individually to suit their professional and personal goals in these areas.

Sessions are free and offered virtually at this time. Registration is required. Course schedules and registration can be found under each course description below.

Search Committee Training

This short training video for System Offices search committee members aims to foster diversity, equity, inclusion, compliance, and best practices in our search process. This training is required for anyone that serves on a System Office search committee. You do not need to view the training each time you are on a search committee, but will be expected to take a refresher every two years. After viewing the training video, hiring managers and search committee members should:

  • have a deeper understanding of the System Offices’ search process; and,
  • learn tips and strategies to find the best candidates; and,
  • understand their role as a search committee member; and,
  • identify ways to avoid biases; and,
  • implement best practices for interviewing; and,
  • become aware of federal and state laws that impact recruiting and selection.

Take the System Offices Search Committee Training.

Training for Managers

Through a variety of interactive sessions, managers will better understand system office policies and procedures; learn the necessary skills to keep employees motivated and engaged; develop techniques to promote teamwork; and develop more effective relationships with the people they manage.

Values and the Role They Have in Your Life

Values are fundamental beliefs that guide or motivate actions and decisions. When you live by your values, life is usually good and you feel content. When you don’t follow your values, or maybe you’re not sure what your values are, life can feel out of whack and lead to unhappiness. Through a series of exercises, you will learn how to identify your core values and the importance of the role they play in your life.
