Creating a Vendor Access Number (VAN)
The VAN is what a vendor will use to view your employment verification information. When you create a VAN through the EVS, please be aware of the following:
- The VAN must be a four-digit number.
- Each VAN may only be used one time.
- The VAN will expire automatically after 30 days.
- You may create as many VANs as you need at one time, but each number must be different. Once a VAN expires or is used, the number may be used again.
Authorization Levels
The authorization level that you select in the EVS will determine how much of your employment information a vendor is able to view. The higher authorization level contains more detailed information.
1. Employment Verification Only
The Employment Verification Only option will provide the vendor with limited information:
2. Current Employment and Earnings Statement
The Current Employment and Earnings Statement option provides the vendor with detailed information about your employment and income:
- Name
- Most recent hire date
- Position and appointment percentage
- Current pay rate (annual, monthly, and/or hourly)
- Summary of gross earnings
The Historical Employment and Earnings Statement option provides the vendor with the same information within a selected date range.
